Borak yang biasa dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat umum biasa disebut Bleng. Borak memiliki rumus kimia Sodium Tetraborate. Sempat beberapa tahun kemarin borak heboh dimedia masa. Beberapa tahun kemarin bahkan sekarang juga masih sering diberitakan tentang kandungan borak dalam makanan. Dimana borak dilarang keberadaannya didalam bahan makanan.

Namun apa sih sebenarnya borak. Kenapa dilarang… mari kita bahas. Dan kenapa judul artikel ini ‘borak ternyata dibutuhkan oleh tubuh?’ Hem aneh sekali. Jadi mari kita lanjutkan saja. Disini penulis ingin menulis unek uneknya seputar borak karena Dosen Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang yaitu ibu Arintina Rahayuni STP.MPd menjelaskan sewaktu perkuliahan tentang Kimia Amami (yang membahas kimia makanan) bahwa sebenarnya borak diperlukan tubuh sebagi mikronutrien (nutrisi yang dibutuhkan tubuh dalam jumlah tertentu). Disinilah kenapa artikel ini dibuat karena selama ini tak pernah ada media yang memberitakan bahwa borak juga diperlukan tubuh.

Secara umum manfaat borak dalam tubub yaitu membantu penyerapan kalsium dalam tubuh. Selain itu borak juga dapat meningkatkan beberap nutrisi penting seperti vitamin D, kalsium, tembaga dan magnesium. Borak sendiri merupakan zat yang dapat kita temukan di dalam beberapa jenis makanan seperti almond, brokoli, kacang dll.

Proses osteoarthritis

Tubuh manusia membutuhkan borak dalam jumlah tertentu perhari. Apabila kekurangan zat ini dalam diet makanan (pola makan) maka akibat yang ditimbulkan adalah osteoarthritis dan kangker prostat. Dosis borak sebesar 2,5 – 6 mg perhari diberikan kepada penderita osteoarthritis (nyeri sendi hingga menyebabkan bengkak pada sendi).

Komsumsi borak sesuai takaran akan bermanfaan oleh tubuh sebaliknya apabila berlebihan akan mengakibatkan keracunan borak. Dalam segala hal berlebihan selalu berakhir pada hal yang tidak baik. Karenanya tempatkan segala hal sesuai porsinya. Sekian. Semoga bermanfaat.
